On June 28, 2025, Arhipelago marked a major milestone in the international promotion of Romanian entrepreneurship, public administration, and academia by successfully organizing the business conference “Romania in International Economic Dialogue” at the Romania Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This high-level event brought together over 60 participants from Romania and Japan, facilitating a rare and dynamic exchange between Romanian local authorities, business leaders, university representatives, civil society actors, and relevant Japanese stakeholders.

The conference was a central event within the Afaceri.ro EXPO Osaka 2025 economic mission – an ambitious international program coordinated by Arhipelago, aimed at connecting Romanian stakeholders with the Japanese innovation ecosystem. In a period marked by shifting global alliances and emerging challenges, Arhipelago demonstrated exceptional organizational capacity and strategic vision by designing an event that simultaneously addressed economic diplomacy, innovation transfer, and cultural exchange.

The conference featured insightful presentations from Romanian local government leaders, who introduced their communities and ongoing development initiatives to Japanese partners. At the same time, Romanian entrepreneurs and companies presented products and services with high internationalization potential in key sectors such as IT&C, green economy, furniture and wood processing, light industry, creative services, and smart city solutions. This multisectoral approach enabled direct conversations with Japanese interlocutors interested in sustainable urban development, cross-border partnerships, and new market opportunities.

Japanese participants responded with keen interest, reflecting the growing appetite for exploring Central and Eastern European markets and learning about Romania’s untapped potential. The presence of influential Japanese stakeholders underscored the relevance of this event and the need for sustained Romanian–Japanese engagement at all levels—governmental, academic, and business.

Beyond the content, what truly set this event apart was the outstanding coordination and execution delivered by the Arhipelago team. In close collaboration with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Commissioner General of the Romania Pavilion, Arhipelago ensured that the event was not only flawlessly organized but also deeply meaningful. Every detail—from speaker curation to logistics and audience engagement—was handled with precision, contributing to a compelling Romanian presence on the world stage.

This initiative was more than a one-day event. It was a powerful step in redefining Romania’s international economic brand and in building long-term relationships with Japanese institutions and companies. It also amplified the message that Romania is ready to cooperate globally—with competent local governance, university partnerships, and private sector innovation all aligned for international outreach.

By bridging regions, sectors, and cultures, Arhipelago once again confirmed its role as a key facilitator of international partnerships for Romania’s development. The success of the conference in Osaka reflects not only meticulous planning and cross-sectoral collaboration, but also a deep belief in the transformative power of diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and education.

As global attention turns toward Asia in 2025, Arhipelago continues to act as a strategic connector—offering Romanian actors visibility, voice, and access to global opportunities. The event in Osaka was a powerful symbol of that commitment and a model for future economic diplomacy missions.
