Casablanca & Rabat, February 2026 – Arhipelago and Afaceri.ro have officially concluded the Trade Mission Morocco 2026, a strategic initiative that has opened new doors for Romanian-Moroccan collaboration in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and technological innovation.
Funded by the European Union under the Cluster Business Connect project (part of the Euromed Clusters Forward program, implemented by ANIMA Investment Network and led by Berytech), the mission facilitated concrete partnerships between elite companies from both nations.
Diplomacy & strategy: Foundations for a North African business club
The Romanian delegation, consisting of 6 high-level representatives from the energy and consultancy sectors, began the mission with a direct, informal briefing with H.E. Mrs. Maria Ciobanu, the Romanian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco.
The discussions focused on bilateral economic synergies and a visionary project: the establishment of an Afaceri.ro Club in North Africa. This hub is intended to support Romanian entrepreneurs looking to enter emerging markets across the region.

Concrete results: 5 MoUs signed at the ENR Cluster
A landmark moment of the mission occurred during the visit to the ENR Cluster in Casablanca, an organization representing over 300 entities in the sustainable energy sector. Following a series of roundtables and company presentations, 5 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Romanian firms and Moroccan partners:
- Romanian Signatories: TAAS Consultancy SRL, SC AVELIS MANAGEMENT SRL, HELPVOLT INSTALL SRL.
- Moroccan Partners: EDELSTER, ENERGY AND BUILDING, SEP/SHARE ENERGY PARTNERS, ATLYKAS GROUP, and Digital Nova.

These partnerships aim to foster technology exchange, infrastructure consultancy, and digital solutions for the energy transition.
Exploring the energy ecosystem: Solar Expo & MASEN
The delegation attended the 14th edition of Solar Expo Morocco, the region’s premier renewable energy exhibition, engaging in guided tours and pre-arranged B2B meetings.

The journey to Rabat added a vital institutional and academic dimension:
- Mohammed V University of Rabat: Exchanges on academic cooperation, innovation, and technology transfer.
- MASEN (Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy): Delegates gained strategic insights into Morocco’s national renewable energy strategy and explored how Romanian expertise can support Morocco’s goal of becoming a global green energy leader.

Technical excellence on the ground: BOTTU & IMACAB
The final days were dedicated to technical site visits in the industrial districts of Sidi Moumen and Aïn Sebaâ, where participants observed successful large-scale implementations:
- BOTTU: Integration of a 1 MW photovoltaic self-consumption system within major pharmaceutical production.
- IMACAB: A deep dive into industrial energy efficiency through a 1.2 MW solar power facility.

Testimonial
“Everything was beautifully organized, and the selected team was excellent—extraordinary people with whom it was a real pleasure to attend meetings and travel together.” — Mr. Andrei Suiu, CTO at Help Volt.
Next Steps: Moroccan delegation to visit Romania in April
The collaboration started in Casablanca is just the beginning. In April 2026, a delegation of Moroccan companies and organizations will visit Romania to deepen the partnerships initiated during this mission.
